In the first six months of 2015, Intersport's revenue for the first time surpassed €5 billion, equivalent to a 6.7% rise compared to the same period last year.

The Athlete’s Foot, the sneaker specialist retailer acquired by the group in 2012, for its part recorded a 9% rise, boosted chiefly by new store openings.

Franz Julen, CEO of Intersport International, explained these fine performances with the sustainability of the group's economic model, which brings together 5,000 partners who are close to their local customers, as well as with the rising growth towards fitness and the importance of health and well-being. He also pointed out the successful winter season in the months of January and February.

"For the first time ever Intersport's revenues are expected to top €11 billion in 2015, while The Athlete’s Foot results will be in excess of €300 million," he stated.
