Jeremy Scott redesigns the MTV Video Music Awards statuette

The iconic music channel MTV announced on Monday that they had called on Jeremy Scott, Moschino's creative director, to redesign the Moonman, the famous statuette of the MTV Video Music Awards.

The statuette represents an astronaut holding an MTV flag, imitating the one who planted the American flag into the moon, hence its nickname, "Moonman".

The result of this redesign is a combination of Jeremy Scott's style with the one of the music channel, using in particular the television color bars on the MTV flag, as well as an overdimensioned peace sign necklace.

The next annual ceremony of the MTV Video Music Awards will be hosted by Miley Cyrus on August 30, and will be visible in about 160 countries.
