Jeremy Scott x Pepsi sunglasses

Published
Feb 2, 2016

American designer Jeremy Scott will collaborate with Pepsi to produce a new line of sunglasses celebrating Pepsi’s #pepsiMoji campaign.

Scott is the creative mind behind the playfully quirky creations of Moschino, as well as of musician Katy Perry’s stage costumes.

Originally from Kansas City, Scott has taken his all-American roots and turned them into fun and exciting fashion designs for Moschino, for his private label, and also in collaboration with Adidas. His designs draw from iconic American consumerism such as Barbie, McDonalds and Coca-Cola. Pepsi is a natural next inspiration for his creative journey.

Last year, Pepsi released a set of emojis calling it the “language of now.” Specifically, “the designs incorporate the essence of Pepsi — the brand’s iconic globe shape and the colors of blue, red and white — for a universal language that is proprietary to the brand.”

Pepsi’s #pepsiMoji campaign might look familiar to anyone who remembers the 7UP soda mascot, the Cool Spot character. PepsiCo owns the rights to the Cool Spot outside of the US.

With some of the emoji’s already wearing playful sunglasses, the styles coming from the Jeremy Scott collaboration will surely be exciting.
