K2 appoints industry vet as new brand president
Colonna will lead product, sales and marketing of all K2 Sports brands, which include ski, snowboarding and skateboards under the K2 label, Ride Snowboards, and Line Ski. K2 also owns ski boot, accessory and snowshoe brands.
Christoph Bronder, President and CEO of K2-MDV Holdings, LP said, “John’s deep brand building experience will provide horsepower to drive growth.”
Colonna most recently comes from Converse where he helped the Nike-owned brand relaunch in a digital friendly manner. He led the Cons One Star campaign and the revitalization of the brand's apparel for a new generation.
Colonna has a background in snowsports in addition to branding. He was a Director of Men's Outerwear, Apparel and Soft Goods at Burton for over five years, before moving to Rusty Surfboards as the VP of Merchandising and Design for another three years.
After Rusty, Colonna headed to Nike where he led global sportswear merchandising for over two years. Colonna then became Global VP of Merchandising and Design for Levi's for four more years.
Colonna's appointment as K2 brand president is effective immediately.
