Kidbox expands to baby apparel with launch of Baby by Kidbox
Children’s fashion subscription service Kidbox announced on Thursday the launch of Baby by Kidbox, a seasonal apparel box for baby brands. With the launch, the VC-backed startup expands its positioning in the children’s apparel market, which according to Mintel Children's Clothing US Report is expected to reach $46.1 billion in 2017.
Baby by Kidbox builds on the service’s shopping experience by including infants and babies ranging from newborn to 24 months. Each box includes 5 to 8 apparel and accessories styles from brands such as Giggle, Adidas, DKNY, Reebok, 7 For All Mankind, and Burt’s Bees among others.
"All parents—especially new moms and dads—are starved for time and are looking for one place to shop for all of their children's needs and style preferences," said Miki Racine Berardelli, Kidbox CEO. "With our baby extension, we are offering parents the convenience of purchasing stylish clothing curated especially for their babies without the fuss of having to search through multiple websites or driving to the mall. Meanwhile, families can enjoy their new clothes while knowing they are also giving back to children in need."
Berardelli joined Kidbox in 2016, bringing 20 years of marketing experience to the fledgling company. The New York City-based has experienced significant growth as an overall brand with Berardelli at the helm, in terms of sales and approval.
In 2016, Kidbox launched the Kids Board of Directors, which allows children to work on business projects as local ambassadors. The company also partnered with K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers to outfit a child in need with every Kidbox purchased.
"Based on the growth trajectory since Miki's arrival and the new team we are building, Kidbox is now positioned to be the leading children's box e-tailer and the new distribution avenue for brands looking to reach their target consumers" said co-founder Haim Dabah.
