Labelux sells jeweller Solange Azagury-Partridge back to founder

Published
Dec 13, 2012

As was the case with Derek Lam, Labelux have sold the brand Solange Azagury-Partridge back to its founder. This comes as the group attempts to refocus its activities in the leather and luxury shoe sectors. The London designer Solange Azagury-Partridge, who’s brand was one of the first to be bought by Labelux, has bought the back the entire share capital of the company.

When Labelux first got their hands on the designers brand they employed a global expansion strategy. Today, Solange Azagury-Partridge has stores in London, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore.

A Solange Azagury-Partridge campaign

Solange Azagury-Partridge started creating jewelry with a very personal and innovative aesthetic in the nineties which eventually led to a position at Boucheron in 2002.
Her work for the Paris-based brand increased the interest in her namesake brand and Solange Azagury-Partridge was consequentially featured in a design retrospective at
London’s Design Museum. Her conceptual store design with a luxurious boudoir feel is reminiscent of Dalí and Schiaparelli.

Labelux’s current portfolio now only features four fashion houses, all of which specialise in luxury shoes and leather: Bally, Zagliani, Belstaff and Jimmy Choo. The two latter brands were bought by Labelux in 2011 and have both received large investments aimed at boosting their retail networks; a flagship store on Madison Avenue for Belstaff and various openings in New York and London for Jimmy Choo.
