LeSportsac to collaborate with Bag Studio in strategic agreement
NYC-based bag brand LeSportsac Inc. has announced that it is teaming up with Bag Studio to produce a full assortment of handbags, small goods, and travel pieces for the US wholesale market to be released in July.
The new collection aims to celebrate LeSportsac’s heritage with a sporty, chic and fashion-forward esthetic, and hopes to please existing fans while also reaching out to new markets.
LeSportsac was founded in 1974 by Melvin and Sandy Schifter and has become known for its full range of handbags, travel bags, totes, messengers, backpacks, and accessories fabricated using durable, high-performance materials, and offered in a variety of bright colors and prints.
The brand, which was acquired by the Japanese company Itochu corp. in 2006, has previously collaborated with designers and creatives such as Stella McCartney, Diane Von Furstenberg, Jonathan Adler and Gwen Stefani. It also partnered with Nintendo to release a Super Mario-themed travel collection in June 2017, and, most recently, teamed up with Hershey for a chocolate-inspired collaboration which launched at the end of last month.
Bag Studio is a global organization specializing in implementing and executing licensed brands in men's and women's handbag, small goods, and travel categories.
LeSportsac’s collaboration with Bag Studio is slated to debut in February 2018, during Accessory Market, and launch in July.
