Longchamp to open New York flagship on Fifth Avenue

Lonchamp has selected Fifth Avenue, number 645 between Furla and Versace, to bow its New York flagship store. Open to the public from May 3, the flagship joins the brand's network of over 300 stores, following a recent store opening in Tokyo last October.

In New York, while the brand prepares for its pre-launch one day before opening to the public, Longchamp called upon Paris artist Remed to recreate his artwork L’Eau delà – Emoi, which is serving as a decorative storefront while construction, begun on 9 November 2017, is completed.

Hidden behind the art, according to the US press, is close to 370-square-metres of space, awaiting shoppers before its official opening; an event that coincides with Longchamp's 70th birthday.

Founded by Jean Cassegrain in 1948, the Parisian brand is betting big in the US not only with its new boutique, but a collaboration with American designer Shayne Oliver, which will be available for purchase on May 4, one day after the New York flagship launch. By the end of 2018, Longchamp will look to enter California, with its first Los Angeles store.
