Louis Vuitton launches "The Book" magazine

Published
Oct 10, 2014

A free 120-page magazine sent by post to a target group of preferred customers and translated into eleven languages, The Book will be a biannual publication.

Charlotte Gainsbourg on the cover of The Book

For the first edition, sent out to customers on October 1, Yorgo Tloupas, creator of Intersection magazine and co-creator of Crash magazine and the magazine's artistic director, and Silvia Jorif, a journalist for Elle for the editorial section, have dedicated the cover to Charlotte Gainsbourg.

The magazine also features an interview with Catherine Deneuve, a series of photographs by Peter Lindbergh and the success story of the Keepall bag.

Michael Burke, the chairman and chief executive of Louis Vuitton, has thus also become a publisher with the launch of The Book. A new communications strategy for the luxury giant, following in line with the current publishing trend we are seeing with fashion houses and designers, such as the online magazine "K" by Kering and the "The Karl Daily" newspaper by Karl Lagerfeld, a free newspaper handed out last week in the streets in Paris and now sold in the brand's flagship stores.
