Marks & Spencer, the UK high street retailer, has promoted its former head of design for the Autograph and Limited ranges, Queralt Ferrer, to the newly created role of Womenswear Design Director.

In her new role, she will be in charge of M&S’s Best of British collection and its Classics range.
An M&S Spokesperson said: "We are pleased to promote Queralt Ferrer to the position of Design Director, Womenswear, Lingerie and Beauty. The appointment supports our commitment to improving product style and is in line with our recent move to align accountability for the product areas designed for our female customers."
Frances Russell, the previous womenswear director, left M&S in August.
