Macy's exec Michael Singer elected new chairman of USFIA

The United States Fashion Industry Association (USFIA) announced on May 5 that the Board of Directors has chosen Michael Singer to serve as new Chairman. Singer also serves as Vice President of Customs & Social Compliance for Macy’s Merchandising Group (MMG).
Singer has been a member of the USFIA Board of Directors since 2005, and served as treasurer since 2011. He was also co-chair of the newly launched Education & Training Committee.
Singer takes over as chairman following the retirement of Maureen Gray, Chair of USFIA since 2011. Stefanie Rotta, member of the Board of Directors since 2013, will fill Singer's former role of treasurer.
Julia Hughes, President of USFIA, said of Singer’s appointment: “Michael’s expertise in both customs compliance and social compliance reflects USFIA’s commitment to help global brands and retailers balance the variety of trade and compliance challenges that we face every day.”
Macy’s Merchandising Group (MMG) develops, designs, imports and markets private brand goods sold at Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s. MMG products are sold in over 800 Macy’s Inc. stores as well as through e-commerce and to outside customers. MMG is a founding member of the United States Fashion Industry Association.
