Mapic Awards: finalists with very different backgrounds

The international retail property market (Mapic) has released the list of finalists for the MAPIC Awards, which will be presented at the event to be held in Cannes from November 19-21. 27 finalists from 15 countries have been selected. Among those notables included: 

Best Fashion & Footwear Retail Concept: Aeropostale (US), André (France), and Uniqlo (Japan). 

Best New Retail Concept: the two food concepts Causses (France) and Out of Gluten (Italy) and the vintage sports concept Sports d’Epoque (France).

Best Retail Global Expansion: 100 Montaditos (Spain), Kiko (Italy) and C&A (The Netherlands/Germany).

Most Innovative Shopping Centre: Akasya Acibadem New Generation Life Complex in Istanbul, Turkey; Iapm Mall in Shanghai, Qwartz in Villeneuve-la-Garenne, France and Westgate in Singapore. 

Best Factory Outlet Centre: Fashion House Outlet center in Moscow, Fashion Outlets of Chicago and One Nation Paris. 

Best Refurbished Shopping Centre: Abbey Wool Shopping Park in Bristol in the UK, Armada Development Project in Ankara, Turkey; Centrum Cerny Most in Prague, Czech Republic and Times Square "Mission Possible" Renovation in Hong Kong. 

Best Urban Retail Project: Ghent, Creating an Open Air Shopping Center in Ghent, Belgium; Les Terrasses du Port in Marseille, France and Plac Unii City Shopping in Warsaw, Poland.
