Milano Unica holds session for precollections

Following the announcement of an event in New York and the extension its agreement with Messe Frankfurt to Shanghai, Italian organizers are further developing the textile trade show.

From July 1-3, they will hold the show’s first session dedicated to pre-collections (this time for fall-winter 2016-2017). They are thereby aiming to follow the rhythm of the high-end fashion calendar while following the lead of their colleagues from Munich Fabric Start, who have organized View in July and December for many a year, in addition to their flagship event. Three textile events per year will be held in Milan from now on, or maybe even four if the July event is successful.

Milano Unica Precollezioni is to be held in Firamilanocity and will run at the same time as the leatherwear show Lineapelle. The regular version of Milano Unica, meanwhile, will be held from September 8-10. The question remains as to whether there will also be a similar event for spring collections.

"The organization and participation in two events takes a considerable effort to be made on both the part of Milano Unica and exhibitors. But it’s also a confirmation of the confidence with which the textile and accessories industry has in facing challenges set forth at the international level as well as the evolution of consumption and production worldwide," said Silvia Albini, President of Milano Unica.
