Montreal to host plus size Fashion Week

Montreal will host the first edition of Montreal + Fashion Week from May 20 to the 22. The fashion showcase is dedicated to highlighting designs for the plus size market.
 
“Our goal is to create an event where women can recognize themselves on stage and realize their potential, makes them want to dare a different look or a style, in an atmosphere without judgment,” the event’s website says.

 
Day one of the event will be dedicated to the runway with presentations by brands like i.b.b.i Collection, Les poupounes de luxe, Pheline and more. The collections will be available for purchase at the Sale Expo on day two and three. A number of conferences will also be held for industry professionals and the plus size community, in both English and French.
 
American model Rosie Mercado will be in attendance for this first edition. She will walk the runway for i.b.b.i Collection and will be at the Sales Expo all weekend to meet fans, take pictures and answer questions. Mercado has appeared in international magazines like Vogue Espanol, Marie Claire Brazil and Cosmopolitan.

The event will be held at the Crowley Arts Centre in Montreal. Tickets for the event can be purchased at montrealplusfashionweek.com.
