Muji announces 2 store openings in Vancouver
Japanese retailer Muji has announced that it will open its first permanent retail locations in Vancouver, by the end of the year.
Following the opening of its highly anticipated Vancouver pop-up opening on Friday – so high, a reservation system was put in place – Muji will open two stores in the Lower Mainland: a street-front store on Robson Street and a mall location at Metropolis at Metrotown, in Burnaby. The Robson Street store is expected to span about 10,000 square feet, making it the largest in Canada, while The Metrotown store will be approximately 8,000 square feet.
The Japanese retailer will offer its entire range of products at both locations. Muji carries various household items such as furniture, appliances, stationery, as well as apparel.
The exact locations on Robson Street and inside Metropolis at Metrotown are yet to be revealed.
Muji first expanded to Canada in 2014 with the opening of a storefront in Toronto, followed by an opening in Mississauga, Ontario, at Square One Shopping Centre. This October, they opened their third Canadian location at the Yorkdale Shopping Centre, in Ontario.
Muji has previously stated that they plan to open more stores across Canada, though no official expansion plans have been shared.
