Mykita expands to Georgetown, DC

Eye-wear retailer Mykita will open its Washington, DC store in historic Georgetown today, April 11. Located on a corner of M Street in Georgetown, the MYKITA Shop Washington joins a number of established, high-end boutiques in this popular shopping, dining and entertainment neighborhood.

Known for its custom-fitted frames and precision lenses, Mykita continues to push the envelope with its fashion-forward glasses. The company is celebrating the grand opening of its Georgetown store today, April 11, from 6PM-9PM.
Headquartered in Berlin’s Pelikan-Haus, Germany, Mykata was founded by Moritz Krueger, Philipp Haffmans, Daniel Haffmans and Harald Gottschling in 2003. Since then, the company was won numerous awards, including the 2007 IF Design Award, the 2011 IF Material Award and the 2012 Material Award. Mykita has collaborated with Bernhard Wilhelm in 2009 and Damir Doma in 2012, and most recently Maison Margiela. In addition to an e-commerce site, Mykita also operates stores in Berlin-Mitte, Berlin-West, Cartagena, New York, Monterrey, Paris, Vienna, Tokyo, Zurich and Zermatt.
