Nautica enters dress shirt license with Itochu Prominent

Published

Nautica this week announced that it has entered into a licensing agreement with Itochu Prominent USA for the manufacturing and distribution of men’s dress shirts.

Nautica

As per the agreement, Itochu will distribute Nautica dress shirts at department stores and specialty retailers in the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam, the US Virgin Islands, beginning in fall 2017. The collection will be inspired by the brand’s heritage and will consist of oxford and poplin shirts updated for the active lifestyle.

“We are pleased to announce our new partnership with Itochu for the Nautica men’s dress shirts license,” said Brendan Sullivan, President of VF Sportswear. “Itochu has a proven record of developing fashionable, quality tailored clothing, and we look forward to building a successful category together.”

Nautica’s new license agreement with Itochu follows the brand’s recent license agreement with Mundi Westport Group for men’s and women’s accessories.

Parent company VF Corporation in March announced its 2021 growth plan designed to deliver revenue growth of 4% to 6% in five years. The plan involves  the prioritization of digital and direct-to-consumer, an increased focus on the Asian market, particularly China, and reshaping its brand portfolio.
