Nike entrusts Michael Spillane with its shoes

Published
Mar 9, 2015

At Nike, shoes accounted for more than 16 billion dollars in sales of the 26 billion generated in the group's 2013/14 financial year, ended on 31 May.

The shoes segment represents 61% of Nike's revenue for its 2013-14 financial year - Nike

It should go without saying then that as of 1 June 2015, the General Manager of the footwear segment, Michael Spillane, will be one of the pillars of the American giant's management team.

Mr. Spillane is very familiar with the group. He is currently the General Manager of Greater China, before which he was the Managing Director of Converse and the CEO of Umbro, for which he managed the handover in 2012.

In China, Nike's current financial director will take over for Spillane. Angela Dong, who joined the group in 2005 as its financial controller, reports to Elliott Hill, President of Geographies and Sales for the Nike brand.
