UK-based independent eyewear brand, Ollie Quinn is expanding across North America including in Canada with the opening of nine boutiques.
The seller of sunglasses and optical frames was founded in London by four friends from around the world and relaunched under the Ollie Quinn banner in March.
Of their nine Canadian boutiques, five will open in the province of British Columbia including three stores in Vancouver, one in Victoria and one in Burnaby. Three store locations will also open in Ontario in Toronto, Mississauga and Ottawa, while one location will open in Calgary, Alberta.

In store, shoppers can find Ollie Quinn’s inaugural collection of 50 optical and sunglass frames. The eyewear collection is designed in-house by a team of creators, led by French designer Sebastien Brusset who has previously worked with brands such as Tag Heuer, Leica and Sonia Rykiel.
“Naturally, I am influenced by my hometown of Lyon, where art and the French lifestyle are perfectly balanced to drive inspiration,” explained Brusset, on the design process. “I live in an area called La Confluence, which is quite avant garde. The city boasts many different styles of architecture, especially metallic surfaces which catch the light and reflect colours in a very special way. You will definitely notice this detailing dotted throughout the first collection.”
A further 20 designs are expected to launch in time for summer. The brand is also dedicated to keeping prices fair, by offering all frames at a price point of $145.
In Canada, Ollie Quinn will compete against Quebec eyewear company Bonlook who recently also expanded across Canada, as well as Warby Parker.
