Paule Ka shows off its makeover in Brussels
Paule Ka is thinking big in Brussels. The Parisian label, which private equity firm Change Capital has a major stake in since 2011, has renovated its store by considerably increasing its surface space. Located at 48 Boulevard de Waterloo, the retail store, which before only occupied the ground floor, has tacked on the first two floors as well.
Now incorporating a surface area of 1,600 square feet, Paule Ka was thus able to rejuvenate the concept but also the layout of the space. Now set up as several rooms, each with a distinct atmosphere depending on the brands, accessories, ready-to-wear or black carpet selections present, the store offers a retro chic atmosphere.
The minimalist elegance of the black and white marble contrasts with the cosy feel of a room featuring carpeting and heavy beige curtains. The common theme uniting the different levels: the brass on the walls, the trim, and the very 1960s furnishings.
With some sixty Paule Ka stores, the French house has significantly increased its network since partner Change Capital came onto the scene three years ago. But it is at a turning point now, a few weeks after the announcement of the departure of the designer label's founder and creative director, Serge Cajfinger.
Since this announcement in the middle of summer, Change Capital has not yet commented on the brand's new president. Antoine Bing, who joined the house in 2002, will remain Deputy Managing Director before leaving the house himself once a new president is announced.
