Designer Philippe Starck has turned to fragrances, launching the first three scents for his new perfume label Starck Paris.

The Starck Paris fragrances

The three fragrances, called Peau de Soie, Peau de Pierre and Peau d’Ailleurs, were initially introduced very discreetly at the Alternative Fragrance & Beauty Paris trade show, held in June in Paris.

They were created by perfumers Daphné Bugey, Annick Ménardo and Dominique Ropion, and evoke the Belgian designer's childhood memories, when his mother owned a perfumery. Nearly three years ago, Philippe Starck signed a licence agreement with Spanish company Perfumes y Diseño for the development of these fragrances. The range features a women's perfume, Peau de Soie, one for men, Peau de Pierre and a hybrid one, Peau d’Ailleurs (all priced at €125 for 90 ml and €85 for 40 ml).

In France, the fragrances are notably for sale at L’Eclaireur and at Liquides. Worldwide they are available at selected stores, for example at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman exclusively for the USA, and at El Corte Ingles in Spain.
