Proenza Schouler has launched its first fragrance line, Arizona, a sweet-smelling eau de parfum that has been designed to invoke imagery of cactus and desert mystique.

The fragrance has launched in a 50ml and 100ml editions in bottles inspired by geodes and crystals. Body lotion, shower oil, and hair oil in the Arizona collection are available for pre-order, while stone earrings and necklaces  are retailed alongside the scent on the label's site.

Proenza Schouler designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez created Arizona after a trip to the desert state, which the label described as "a place of beauty and mystery."

Hernandez explained the idea for the fragrance was born out of the designers' desire to disconnect. He said, "People want to escape right now and get back in touch with the core elements, I think.” Drawing on the natural theme, the label's first fragrance is infused with white cactus flower and a mineral signature.

For the launch, guests at the event held during NYFW included Sienna Miller, Dakota Fanning, Alexa Chung, Chloë Sevigny, and Poppy Delevingne. R&B artist SZA performed amidst mountains of pink sand designed to create the desert experience.

Guests were treated to an Augmented Reality (AR) experience using 3-D glasses that transported them to the rim of the Grand Canyon to explore Arizona's landscape.

The new Arizona fragrance retails through Proenza Schouler's website as well as through Saks online, priced from $100 to $130. The body lotion and shower oil will sell for $50 for each 200ml tube, while the Arizona hair oil will retail at $60 for a 100ml vial.
