Ralph Lauren this month appointed former Calvin Klein Global Creative Director Kevin Carrigan as Senior Vice President and Creative Director. The executive confirmed the appointment over social media.

Carrigan brings 20 years of design experience to Ralph Lauren, in which 18 of those years were spent at Calvin Klein. As SVP and Creative Director, he will oversee the Ralph Lauren women’s collection and Chaps brand, including design and licensing.
The executive parted ways with Calvin Klein months after the brand appointed Raf Simons as Chief Creative Officer. At Calvin Klein, Carrigan oversaw the CK Calvin Klein, Calvin Klein Jeans and Calvin Klein White Label collections.
Ralph Lauren hit a sales slump during its long restructuring period. The company closed stores and cut jobs in order to cut costs, which recently impacted its margin. Revenue fell 12% in North America, and wholesale revenue fell 10.4%.
The company announced this month its return to NYFW: Men’s after skipping the men’s fashion week for a full year. Ralph Lauren Purple Label is showing its fall collection on February 1 at the company headquarters. In addition, the company held a see-now-buy-now show at its flagship store on Madison Avenue during NYFW in September.
