Roland Mouret opens boutique at Mayfair in London

Published
Feb 24, 2011

Announced at the end of 2009, the opening of Roland Mouret’s first ever flagship is finally becoming reality. Scheduled to open at the end of London Fashion Week at 8 Carlos Place in Mayfair, the new boutique has been highly anticipated by consumers and fashionistas in London.

Roland Mouret; Spring/Summer 2011 collection

Already a star in Britain, Rouland Mouret seems to be committed to continuing his stardom. In fact, he had to fight hard to win back the right to use the Roland Mouret trademark, after having a fall out in 2005 with business partners Sharai and André Meyers who owned 100% of the business. However, since going into a new partnership with Simon Fuller (CEO of 19 Entertainement, creator of Pop Idol, manager of Spice Girls and even of Victoria Beckham’s fashion collection), Roland Mouret was able to buy back the rights to use his name and designs.

The Carlos Place store is split between six floors, two of which will present Roland Mouret’s collections for men and women (launched in January 2010). The designer is also considering making a “geolocalised” line, in other words a line that would only be available at that specific store and would be labeled ‘Roland Mouret at 8 Carlos Place’. The remaining floors will be used for the studio, workshop, showroom, etc.

Present in 45 countries, the brand has around fifty points of sale spread throughout Europe, such as at the Bon Marché department store in Paris, at Milan’s 10 Corso Como, or even Harrods in London. Several other points of sale offering the Roland Mouret brand can be found in North America (28), Middle-East (8), at Lane Crawford department stores in China and also at 10 Corso Como in South Korea. One can equally shop for the collections online at net-a-porter.com, mytheresa.com and at neimanmarcus.com for the United States.
