On Thursday, during a general company meeting, Rolex announced that Jean-Frédéric Dufour will take over as the Swiss watchmaker’s new CEO on June 17.

In a statement, Rolex’s board of directors stated, "Mr. Jean-Frédéric Dufour will take office as Chief Executive Officer on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, on the date that our ordinary general assembly is held."

Gian Riccardo Marini, Rolex’s current CEO, will concurrently be appointed to the board, according to the statement.

Rolex announced the nomination of Jean-Frédéric Dufour, the former CEO of the LVMH-owned watch brand Zenith, in April 2014. But the date of his appointment was not yet known.
