Shoppers Drug Mart launches Canada's largest online beauty platform
Canadian pharmacy retailer Shoppers Drug Mart launched on Wednesday a new e-commerce platform, becoming Canada’s largest online beauty shopping destination.
The new platform at Shoppersdrugmart.ca/beauty houses cosmetics and a range of luxury beauty products. Customers can find skincare, hair colour and wardrobe accessories previously only available in store, as well as benefit from 24/7 shopping.
"Canadians look to us every day for beauty products, tips and inspiration. Our goal is to provide them with an amazing, convenient experience wherever they want to shop with us," said Kelly Jessop, Vice President, Mass Beauty, Shoppers Drug Mart, in a news statement.
"In addition to providing the best selection of top and on-trend beauty products from Canada and around the world, Shoppers now brings together the largest assortment of mass and luxury beauty products in a single online destination, making it easier for Canadians shoppers to find their favourite beauty products and discover new favourites."
By creating a platform where both luxury and mass market beauty products can be found, “Shoppers Drug Mart has fine-tuned the online beauty shopping experience,” according to digital trends expert Amber Mac.
In fact, nearly 60 percent of Canadian women are shopping online for beauty products, according to a Beauty Landscape Study, from November 2016.
"This initiative is driven by our customers who have asked us to make Shoppers Drug Mart's mass market beauty assortment more accessible online," added Jeremy Pee, SVP, eCommerce, Loblaw Companies Limited.
The platform is now live. Shoppers can benefit from free shipping on purchases of $50 and more. Free returns will equally be accepted in store.
Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation operates more than 1,300 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix stores across the country, as well as four luxury beauty destinations operating as Murale, and other retail operations.
