Skechers launches new line of wellness-focused footwear
Skechers, the lifestyle and performance footwear brand based in Manhattan Beach, California, just launched a new collection of footwear geared towards the busy woman on the go.
You by Skechers is an amalgamation of the brand’s other lifestyle and performance lines, resulting in a fashionable, light-weight sneaker that is designed to be worn while running on the treadmill or running errands.
“We’ve seen an explosion in the desire for lightweight wellness footwear in the athleisure marketplace,” said Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers. “You by Skechers gives us the perfect opportunity to fuse the best aspects of both our performance and lifestyle experience to meet that need. We expect this versatile collection to resonate strongly with active women across multiple demographics.”
Skechers in known for tapping prominent spokesmodels to serve as ambassadors for the brand including pro-golfer Billy Andrade, actor Rob Lowe and ex-football star Joe Montana. To help showcase the healthy living and balance aspect of the You by Skechers line, the company partnered with Koya Webb, a fitness model, vegan advocate and former track star; Danette May, a fitness star and social media influencer; superfood guru and yogi Sophie Jaffe; and Pilates expert Katie Yip.
Consumers are encouraged to engage with the spokesmodels via social media, where there is an ongoing conversation about physical and mental health, fashion, beauty and more.
While Skechers plans to expand its new line of athleisure footwear, the laceless line currently consists of five different patterns, each available in seven different colors. The shoes retail for $65 and can be found online or at one of Skechers stores throughout the U.S., Canada, Asia, Middle East, Canada, Japan, Latin America and Europe.
