SoulCycle and Target are in the midst of a 10-city tour offering free indoor bike “spinning” classes to help customers engage in a healthier lifestyle. The two companies are also launching pop-up shops offering affordable sports gear and wellness products in support of Target’s C9 Commit to Fit 210Day Challenge, Target’s initiative to show that fitness and wellness can be fun for everyone.
The tour kicked off in New York City on January 13, with a celebrity-filled cardio party. Guests included Hillary Duff and Lea Michelle. The next stops were Washington, DC, Houston, Seattle, Atlanta, Nashville and Denver. Four cities still remain. On February 5-7, classes and events will be held in Miami and Chicago, and the tour will end on February 14 after stopping over in Minneapolis and Los Angeles. For those who can't attend one of the in-person events, Target has a SoulCycle boutique with exercise and wellness products online and in select stores.
“We know that wellness is top of mind for so many of our guests, especially at this time of year when people are looking for ways to reinvigorate their exercise routines” says Jeff Jones, chief marketing officer, Target. “By partnering with a premier fitness brand like SoulCycle, we can offer a uniquely Target experience and help our guests start the new year off on a positive note.”
SoulCycle, established in 2005, now operates in the United States with 36 studios and a partnership with Equinox since 2012. In 2015, the company filed for an IPO after generating over $25 million in net income in 2014.
