The North Face signs lease for Midtown Manhattan store

The North Face this month signed a lease for a 20,000-square-foot flagship location in New York City. The Midtown Manhattan space is located at 510 Fifth Avenue where Joe Fresh was formerly located.

 
The store will occupy the Manufacturers Trust Company Building—specifically 5,000-square-feet on the ground floor, 9,500-square-feet on the second floor and almost 5,000-square-feet on the lower level.
 
The California-based outdoor brand currently operates two stores in New York City in the Upper West Side and in SoHo standing at 8,000-square-feet and 4,200-square-feet, respectively.

Joe Fresh announced in March that it would close its Fifth Avenue locations in Midtown Manhattan and Flatiron. The Canadian retailer closed its locations in Herald Square and on Madison Avenue last fall, and it still operates its SoHo store on 462 Broadway. Joe Fresh hired CBRE Group to help sublease its Fifth Avenue stores.
