The Webster opens first NYC store in SoHo

Multi-brand retailer The Webster opened on Monday its first New York City retail location at 29 Greene Street in SoHo.

The Webster New York City at 29 Greene Street in SoHo - The Webster

Murmurs and rumblings of The Webster opening a retail location in New York City began in 2013 when its flamingo logo was seen at 29 Greene Street nearby Blue in Green. Founder Laure Hériard Dubreuil confirmed that she purchased the building for $6.1 million in 2013, and the countdown to the opening of The Webster’s first New York City store began.

The luxury multi-brand retailer currently operates a flagship location in Miami and stores in Bal Harbour, Houston and Costa Mesa at South Coast Plaza. The new SoHo store is the retailer’s second flagship location to open in the US.

The 12,000-square-foot store offers luxury labels such as Saint Laurent Paris, Dior, Céline and Balenciaga, and younger labels like Acne Studios, Fear of God and Yeezy Season 5.

Although fashion is the central focus at The Webster SoHo, the retailer is selling its furniture as well and will rotate pieces to accommodate for the furniture sold. Not all of the store’s furniture is for sale, but The Webster said it would connect its clients to designers so they could get their hands on a similar piece.

The first level of the six-floor flagship is devoted to women’s handbags and shoes, as well as childrenswear, and as customers ascend the store via elevator or staircase, they will see the women’s floor on two and three, the men’s offering on the fourth floor, a hair salon from David Mallett and a VIP area on the very top level.

The Webster is currently preparing for a proper opening party that will be held in February to coincide with NYFW. The retailer also has plans to launch in January exclusive pieces from the brands it currently offers. So far, the SoHo store is stocked with pieces from other Webster locations, but the spring 2018 assortment is guaranteed to fit in with New York City.
