Todd Lynn named curator of Mass Exodus 2016

Toronto's Ryerson University’s School of Fashion announced last week the appointment of acclaimed fashion designer Todd Lynn, as curator of Mass Exodus 2016.

“We are very excited to welcome back one of our own Ryerson Fashion graduates,” says Robert Ott, Chair of Ryerson School of Fashion, in a news release. “Todd Lynn’s extensive experience in both women’s and men’s wear in the highly competitive British market will bring critical insight into the opportunities our graduates can seize in the global fashion market.”

The student-run fashion show, Mass Exodus, showcases the final collections of all fourth year Fashion Design and Fashion Communications students in the form of a runway presentation and exhibition.

This year, there will be three shows presented by Fashion Design students, with approximately 22 collections presented at each show. As curator, the London-based designer who has worked with music industry elite such as U2, The Rolling Stones, Jared Leto, Rihanna and Beyonce, will attend all shows and will be in charge of selecting 15 designers to be included in a final curated evening for industry professionals and influencers.

“I am honoured to return to Ryerson to act as the curator for this year’s graduate show. Ryerson's reputation of providing the Canadian industry with skilled graduates is unprecedented, and I am looking forward to seeing this year’s cohort and how they see the ever-changing world of fashion,” says Todd Lynn, in a news release.

The three runway shows will take place on Sunday, April 10 at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. The final curated show will also take place on April 10, at 6 pm.

Mass Exodus 2016 is in its 28 year of production. For the first time, it will take place at the Ryerson Student Learning Centre.
