Tom Ford this week experienced the effect that rapper Drake has on things that have his name attached to it. The Canadian rapper can sell millions of records and clothing from his OVO Brand, but it looks like he can lipstick as well.

The American designer announced in October that he would release a lipstick named after the ‘Hotline Bling’ rapper as part of his ‘Lips & Boys’ lipstick collection. The collection released on November 27 and re-released with the Drake-inspired shade, which sold out within minutes. The shade was also sold at Tom Ford boutiques in New York City and Chicago and on Net-a-Porter, but they did not last. The rapper took to social media and joked saying that his mother bought the entire stock.

Ironically, Drake had no ties to the $35 metallic plum shade lipstick other than his name. Customers that are still in search of the lipstick can find it being sold on eBay for $80 to $225, according to the American media. Time reported that a Limited Edition set of Drake lipstick shades is being sold for $2,387.50.

Tom Ford first introduced its ‘Lips & Boys’ lipstick collection in 2014. Each lipstick shade is named after notable men.
