Tommy Hilfiger, Jerry Lorenzo named mentors for VFiles Runway 8

VFiles on Monday announced Tommy Hilfiger and Fear of God designer Jerry Lorenzo as mentors for the VFiles Runway 8 show on Friday, February 10.

 
Hilfiger recently held the second Tommy Hilfiger see-now-buy-now show at Venice Beach, CA. The American designer held his first see-now-buy-now show in September at South Street Seaport in New York City to support the launch of the Tommy Hilfiger fall 2016 collection and the TommyxGigi collection.
 
VFiles last year hosted a temporary pop up shop for the Justin Beiber Purpose Tour collection that was designed by Jerry Lorenzo. The designer also designed wardrobe for the pop singer, which launched at several retailers including Barneys New York and Urban Outfitters. Lorenzo, who served as a mentor for the VFiles Runway show in past seasons, recently debuted the Fear of God fall 2017 collection, which begins preorders in March 2017.

Makeup artist Pat McGrath and stylist Mel Ottenberg will join Hilfiger and Lorenzo as mentors this season, consulting with designers, models, photographers, stylists and hair and makeup artists for the show.
 
Snow Xue Gao of New York City, Strateas Carlucci of Melbourne and Daniëlle Cathari of Amsterdam will present their latest collections as the VFiles Runway 8 participants. Gao recently presented her spring 2017 collection at the 2016 Parsons MFA show, which caught the attention of singer Rihanna. Cathari, who is in her third year at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute, will present her very first collection at VFiles Runway 8, while Strateas Carlucci designers Peter Strateas and Mario-Luca Carlucci will present the latest collection of their brand, which launched in 2013.
 
In addition to the participating designers debuting their respective collections, VFiles will present a preview of their multi-tier collaboration with Converse, a sponsor for the event.
 
VFiles Runway 8 will be held on February 10, 2017 at 8pm and it will be live streamed on the VFiles website and app and on Times Square billboards starting at midnight.
