Tommy Hilfiger, Jo Malone to join World Retail Hall of Fame

Published
Mar 21, 2016

The World Retail Hall of Fame announced Monday the inductees of the 2016 World Retail Hall of Fame. Tommy Hilfiger, Jo Malone and Premier Investments Chairman Solomon Lew will be inducted into the Hall of Fame during the World Retail Hall of Fame lunch at the 10th Annual World Retail Congress at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai on April 12-14.

Tommy Hilfiger

Hilfiger introduced his signature collection in 1985, and after 30 years, the company operates over 1,400 stores in over 115 countries on five continents. In 2014, the company achieved over $6.7 billion in retail sales.

Jo Malone, who is also being inducted into the 2016 Hall of Fame, launched her Jo Malone brand of scented products in 1994 and sold the brand to The Estée Lauder Companies in 1999. She remained with the brand as Creative Director before parting ways in 2006. In November 2011, Malone launched Jo Loves and opened the first store in 2013 in Belgravia’s Elizabeth Street where she began her career as a florist at the age of 16.

Tommy Hilfiger will have an open conversation with Gilbert Harrison, Founder & Chairman, Financo, at the World Retail Conference on Wednesday, April 13, and Jo Malone will be a speaker at Keynote: Global Business, Brands and Customers: Connecting the Retail Dots on Thursday, April 14.

The World Retail Congress was founded in 2007 as a way for senior leaders in retail to come together to discuss major issues and trends affecting the industry. The theme for 2016 is “Attracting and Engaging with Tomorrow’s Consumers”.

Past World Retail Hall of Fame inductees include Mickey Drexler, Armancio Ortega, the Nordstrom family, Sir Paul Smith, Martha Stewart, and Ted Baker Founder and CEO Ray Kelvin among others.
