Topshop re-imagines adidas Originals pieces for new collaboration
Topshop, the British fashion retailer known for its collaborations with both young, emerging designers and more established names, has once again teamed up with sportswear heavyweight adidas Originals.
Topshop and adidas first worked together in March 2014. In order to create the new collection, which is described as "the perfect fusion of street style with rich sport heritage", Topshop reinvented a number of iconic adidas Originals piece. The line, which features the Superstar jacket and shoes, the oversize logo tee, side stripe pants and shorts, emphasises the trefoil logo.
The collection's colour scheme was inspired by 80's hip hop iconography and consists of a basic monochromatic palette, punctuated by flashes of bright red.
"Our love of fashion and sportswear comes to life in this capsule collection. Sportstyle classics with bold graphic numbers are the superstar looks this season," says Kate Phelan, Creative Director, Topshop.
"Our capsule with Topshop is the perfect partnership, as it allows us to explore a contemporary fashion aesthetic while paying homage to our iconic sportswear roots,” said Josefine Aberg, Design Director, adidas Originals.
The line will be available globally in stores and online from April 30.
