Uniqlo opens special concept store in Disney Springs
Uniqlo's concept shop will occupy 25,000 square feet and feature special tributes to Japanese culture.
"Opening our Uniqlo store at Disney Springs is a dream come true for us," said Hiroshi Taki, CEO of Uniqlo USA.
Taki continued, "We look forward to introducing a new and unique shopping experience, unlike any other Uniqlo store in the world, with special products, Japanese-inspired merchandise and family-fun activities for both locals and vacationers. We hope every day will feel like opening day for our customers."
The opening day events that will translate into regular in-store activities include origami and calligraphy classes. Corners throughout the store will be branded in line with the Japanese concept.
In addition to Mickey Mouse and Orlando graphic product, the store will feature a special assortment of Kabuki-inspired apparel including kimonos and other Japanese "omiyage" or souvenir items.
The second floor of the store will feature athletic apparel worn by Uniqlo brand ambassadors tennis player Novak Djokovic and golfer Adam Scott.
The Disney Springs store will have its grand opening Friday, July 15. It will be Uniqlo's first store in the Southeastern US.
