French jewelry brand Van Cleef & Arpels has opened its first boutique in Montreal, as part of its partnership with fellow luxury jeweler Birks.

Van Cleef & Arpels opens first store in Montreal.

The 580-square-foot partner boutique is located in the newly reopened Birks flagship on Sainte-Catherine Street.

This is the third partner boutique with Birks, following openings in Toronto and Vancouver.

“We are thrilled to continue building our thriving network with Birks with this latest addition of our new boutique in Montreal,” said Alain Bernard, President & CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels, Americas, in a news statement. “We are looking forward to sharing the Maison’s inspiring heritage and latest creations with the city.”

Similarly to other locations, the Montreal boutique has a black façade and a muted and elegant interior featuring a handmade Murano glass chandelier, custom gold leaf paneling on the walls, lush velvet draperies and bubble-shaped glass vitrines.

Inside, customers can shop some of the luxury jeweler’s most iconic collections, such as Alhambra and Cadenas.

The jewelry brand opened its first standalone store in Canada just last year, at Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre, but has been present in the country since 2006 thanks to its partnership with Birks.

Earlier this year it opened its doors in Western Canada, in Vancouver on Alberni Street.

The maison was founded in Paris’s Place Vendôme in 1906. Van Cleef & Arpels currently operates over 100 boutiques globally, including over a dozen locations in the United States.
