VFiles names participating Runway 7 designers
VFiles has officially announced the designers participating in VFiles Runway 7. The designers include Ground Zero, Rushemy Botter, Sanchez-Kane, Song Seoyoon and Alessandro Trincone.
The designers were all selected by VFiles and this season’s runway show mentor panel after uploading their work on the VFiles website. The international designers hail from Hong Kong, Mexico, Italy, Belgium and New York City and studied at the top fashion schools in the world such as Parsons and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.
“The VFILES platform has enabled us to break down barriers and bring the global youth community together,” said Julie Anne Quay, VFiles CEO and Founder. “Young designers from China, Belgium, Italy, NYC, and Mexico will create a fashion show that will be unlike anything else. We couldn’t be happier to continue disrupting the traditional fashion cycle.”
Ground Zero is a Hong Kong-based fashion brand founded by brothers Eli and Philip Chu; Rushemy Botter is an Antwerp graduate menswear designer and winner of the 2016 Oriflame Award; Sanchez-Kane is a Mexico-based menswear line from Barbara Sanchez-Kane who is motivated by Mexican heritage and emotional chaos; Song Seoyoon is a recent graduate of Parsons who “uses the power of clothing as a medium to address social issues and sustainability”; and finally Alessandro Trincone is an Italy-based designer that studied at Università La Sapienza di Roma and Osaka Bunka.
VFiles recently announced the mentors for Runway 7, which includes Naomi Campbell, Mel Ottenberg, Jerry Lorenzo, Pat McGrath and rapper Young Thug. The mentors will work closely with the VFiles team to consult with the participating designers and the hair and makeup team, photographers and stylists that will take part in the runway show.
The runway show will take place at Spring Studios on September 7.
