Who is On Next? Uomo: Applications now open
Take note fashion enthusiasts, applications for Who is On Next ? Uomo 2017 are now open until April 1st. The prestigious contest dedicated to young menswear designers is promoted by the prestigious menswear salon Pitti Uomo, in collaboration with Altaroma and l’Uomo Vogue, and organized by the foundation Pitti Discovery.
A jury comprised of buyers, journalists and other influencers will choose the finalists and award a winner during the opening of the next edition of Pitti Uomo, which will take place in Florence June 13 to the 16, 2017.
The winner will get the chance to participate in the next edition of the salon, or in the winter session, by presenting their collection during a special event. The winner will also benefit from a year of free tutoring, through Pitti Tutorship, a tutorship division put in place last year by the organizers of the Florentine salon. The contest is equally supported by various other partners such as the agency Tomorrow London Limited.
This year marks the 9th edition of Who is On Next? Uomo, which is the menswear counterpart of the contest organized each year in Rome for womenswear.
During the last 8 years, they have awarded Umit Benan and Max Kibardin in 2009, Andrea Incontri and Fabio Quaranta in 2010, Andrea Pompilio and Emiliano Rinaldi in 2011, Erїk Bjerkesjö in 2012, Casamadre and SuperDuper Hats in 2013, Alberto Premi and Tom Lipop in 2014, Vittorio Branchizio in 2015, and Carlo Volpi in 2016.
