Zac Posen releases iPhone video starring Kate Upton in lieu of a runway show

The designer skipped the traditional runway presentation and instead posted a series of photos and videos starring models Kate Upton and Barbara Fialho. Posen shot the video using his iPhone.

 
Though he didn’t leave the city, Zac Posen found another way to disrupt the traditional New York Fashion Week model. He showed the gowns and separates from his spring/summer 2018 collection in a lookbook instead, accompanied by a series of videos.
 
The short video clips posted to his Instagram page show Upton and Fialho twirling and spinning in the collection’s romantic, feminine gowns. Posen used various iPhone filters to create a vintage aesthetic.

Many designers have turned to short videos on social media to promote their collections or accompany their campaigns, including Brandon Maxwell and Marc Jacobs. Cole Haan also released a series of gifs to accompany his campaign starring dancers from the New York City Ballet. 
 
Posen also stars in his own film, House of Z, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this month. Directed by Sandy Chronopoulos, the documentary shows the designers rise and fall and rise again within the fashion industry. The documentary features interviews with various figures in fashion, including Claire Danes and Naomi Campbell.
