The BFC has unveiled buy-now-pay-later giant Clearpay as its new Principal Partner for London Fashion Week in a two-year deal that also sees it underwriting all of the BFC talent support initiatives for 2021/22.
The British Fashion Council has signed TikTok as Principal Partner of its returning talent identification scheme NewGen. At the same time, BNPL payment firm Clearpay will also become the event’s Official Partner.
The ethical fashion retailer has announced that the Net-a-Porter founder has joined its board of directors, while Nike vet Sophie Bambuck has been appointed as the company’s first chief marketing officer.
The BFC unveiled its newly-digital Fashion Awards on Thursday evening and instead of just replacing the usual live event with an online version, it changed the format to reflect the huge change happening in 2020.
Participants -- from the CFDA and PVH, to designers Gabriela Hearst and Anyango Mpinga -- will contribute to the month-long sustainability-focused event led by Kerry Bannigan's The Conscious Fashion Campaign.
