Fashion likes nothing more than a debut, and the biggest one in Italy this season was designer Glenn Martens at Diesel, the avant-garde Belgian designer, making some bold moves at the Italian streetwear giant.
The almost fully virtual fashion week runs until Tuesday, with only Armani, Dolce & Gabbana and Etro hosting physical shows. Highlights include the first collection by Glenn Martens for Diesel and eight new labels.
Italian fashion group OTB has added two new members to its board of directors. They are Arabella Ferrari of Intercos and Carlo Purassanta of Microsoft, who will contribute their know-how in the beauty and IT sectors.
The first Diesel runway under the creative direction of Glenn Martens will take place during Milan Fashion Week, on 21 June. The brand's collection for Spring/Summer 2022 will include pieces for both men and women.
Many countries pride themselves on their prestigious design colleges, though few fashion schools anywhere are aligned as successfully with high tech, sustainability and digital printing as Shenkar College in Israel.
