Following its recent Jaeger buy, M&S is diving deeper into selling additional fashion brands with news Thursday that it will add Hobbs, Joules, Phase Eight, White Stuff, Jack & Jones, Sloggi and Sosandar to its offer.
Sales and profits fell at joules in the half to the end of November, but its pre-tax profit was still higher than it had expected. And it had plenty of good news to share in its results announcement on Thursday.
Joules had a better than expected festive trading season and despite a massive plunge is physical store sales, it still managed to drive revenues upwards overall as its web sales more than filled the gap.
On a day that included a flurry of results statement and trading updates from listed UK retailers, Joules was one of the winners as it said positive trends highlighted in an earlier update in September have continued.
