The French cosmetics group has appointed Cheryl Vitali, former head of the Kiehl’s brand, to the new position of global president of luxe American brands. She will be succeeded in her previous role by Leonardo Chavez.
UK high street and travel retail newsagent WH Smith has delivered a surprise with news that it’s buying US travel retail specialist Marshall Retail for $400m/£312m, radically expanding its travel retail chain.
The new three-level, 140,000 square-foot location plays host to a new service concept, a new beauty and wellness experience, and a wide offering of clothing, shoes and accessories for men, women and children.
Xavier Vey, with L'Oréal since 1998, is the new head of L'Oréal Luxe in western Europe. He has been replaced as head of L'Oréal Luxe in the USA by Megan Grant, formerly in charge of cosmetics brand Kiehl's.
The French cosmetics giant has entered into negotiations with Clarins with a view to acquire the two perfume brands, as well as Mugler’s fashion business, an operation which would reinforce L’Oréal’s luxury division.
