Pretty Green has had its ups and downs of late but after its administration filing this spring and its purchase by retail giant JD Sports, it seems to be on an up and has launched a Smiley collab for festival season.
The Smiley Company had good news this week and said that last year was strong, despite the weak retail sector. And while full 2018 results are still being prepared, the first nine months suggest a healthy final figure.
Smiley has worked with Michiko Koshino to mark the 30th anniversary of what became known as the Second Summer of Love with a new streetwear collection. And it's also part of Gucci’s short film marking the anniversary.
UK-based Smiley and denim brand Lee Jeans are wrapping up their SS18 European partnership with a major marketing activation at the Elrow Town Festival, which takes place at NDSM Docklands in Amsterdam this Saturday.
Smiley has linked up with US-based Boy Meets Girl for a new streetwear collection, to celebrate “More Self Love.” The collection features a customised mash-up of the Smiley Original icon and the Boy Meets Girl logo.
