The French label owned by Chinese conglomerate Fosun has inked a global licence deal with Marchon for the production of its men’s and women’s eyeglasses and sunglasses. The collections will debut in September 2020.
Safilo has named Victoria Hallberg as chief marketing officer of North America, a newly created position, as poor sunglasses sales in North American department stores continue to be a problem for the eyewear company.
Safilo has tapped eyewear veteran Stephen Wright as the new chief commercial officer for North America. Wright comes to his new role after serving in a series of leadership roles of increasing responsibility with VSP.
US group Marchon Eyewear, the world's third-largest eyewear manufacturer, has signed a global licence agreement for the production and distribution of Columbia Sportswear's eyeglasses and sunglasses collections.
The Italian eyewear group has announced a 10-year licensing agreement for the design, manufacture and worldwide distribution of Valentino eyewear. Their eyewear line was previously distributed by Marchon.
The American eyewear group is continuing to invest in Italy, where it has repatriated the production of certain lines previously made in Asia and where it is installing its European subsidiary, Marchon MB.
