Carven Fall Winter Collection 2013/14 in Paris (with itw)

Guillaume henry, is one of these young designers adored by the press with a clientele won over by his collections and for a good cause, at carven, the wardrobe is feminine with details that make a difference. this season, behind a backdrop of built in cars, in a beineix atmosphere, the carven women tread the sidewalk, curled up in robe coats in pastel colours. key piece of the show, the coat is worked like a dress, the designer offers it in cottony and cozy materials. stylish animal patterns, made as graphic design, decorate covered up dresses or baby-dolls. a fitted and shorter silhouette, consisting of a mini wrap skirt, a little short jacket with large buttons and another one, a tight dress draped in shimmering fabrics, neutralizing the style. for the evening, dresses with prints of photographs of headlights at night demonstrate the talent of the ateliers of the couture house, with a real precision in the cut and the construction. music from fashion show interview guillaume henry : we wanted coats that are a bit like cotton wool, that visual aspect, by touch, the noise of cotton wool when you scratch it in your hand, as a makeup remover. we wanted a cocoon atmosphere, but with materials that go beyond the fabric, so as if the materials are narratives, they tell a story which relates to an emotion. we thought about the zebra, because for me it's the ultimate sexy print, but we forgot to make covered up dresses sexy, which we made more graphic rather than an animal, we used it as latex prints on fragile tulle, in mirrors on woolen dresses but like baby-dolls or just like a bath- robe. i liked the throat, because i find it very vulnerable and i liked warming it up but having skin in little diamond shapes remaining. carven is historically a fashion couture house, we have a wonderful atelier at carven, we work on the precision of the cut, so the garment is not only a visual effect, it's also a construction and an architecture, it's a fabric, an emotion and a product. ines de la fressange : it seems to be classic but it never is, there are always details, and it's cute and charming. we always see stylists on tv saying "i love women", but he really loves women. the press adore him but he's doing the collection for his clients, it's pretty obvious.
