3.1 Phillip Lim - Menswear Spring/Summer 2015 Collection in Paris (with interview)

access_time 00:01:54

In phillip lim’s collection, it’s all about stripes, checks, a mix and match of colours and delicate materials, worked in order to make them supple and comfortable. the designer, based in new york, showcase his idea of elegant streetwear… for the first time for lim, a suit opens the show, with a jacket in a rounded cut and a shirt with an ascending collar. tunics with more volume at the back replace the t-shirt, and jackets and parkas, finished on many models by a crossed string at the front, dominate the show, whilst bermuda shorts become the new trousers. easiness is the key word, along with this cool attitude which is already becoming a craze in phillip lim’s ladies’ ready-to-wear fashion. interview:phillip lim:i really wanted to play around with the idea of how do you polish everything, opening with a suit for the first time and i felt like the boys are growing up but at the same time they still keep their street focus, and how do you propose it in a very authentic way. the main patterns are really masculine codes of plaids and window panes and tattersalls and checks and how do you break it up? how do you twist it? how do you exaggerate it? how do you refine it? music from the show
