Uniqlo's new collaboration with the famous Journalist-Stylist Carine Roitfeld

access_time 00:01:42

Uniqlo continues to completely surprise us by inviting new designers, personalities and stylists every season to take part in original and reworked collaborations. after christophe lemaire and inès de la fressange, it’s the turn of the famous journalist carine roitfeld to collaborate with the japanese giant for a collection in her sharpened and sensual image. available from 29th october. interviews from carine roitfeld and naoki takizawa carine roitfeld:it's true that i refused a lot of collaborations but uniqlo is a bit special. i think that when they make their collaborations they don’t copy other brands. there is something much more, let’s say, unique about them and they have their very own stamp, they have real clothes, clothes truly for every day, and when we work for them we had to take on board that these clothes have to go in the washing machine. it is very different from what we are doing in our fashion houses, and that's what excited me. so i had to talk to very different people, to be able to give them a new taste of fashion. i’m not a designer myself so what did i sell to them? i gave them a bit of an idea of woman, there we go. it’s a bit like my wardrobe revisited for uniqlo.naoki takizawa:when carine came to do the fittings, she asked for only 5 millimetres less or just a cut to bring a change, so just a few things but the clothes have totally changed into something sexier and something newer. carine always mentioned what is important is "less is more" because we already have beautiful individuality. music free of right / bandit & nikit 2015
