Thom Browne - Women's Spring/Summer 2019 Collection in Paris (with interview)

access_time 00:02:17

Designer: thom brownelocation: paris tennis clubinspiration: the californian coast and its summer atmosphere, the seaside, with beach huts, white sand and wooden floorboards customized with thom browne colours decorating the set.collection: summer ambiance for couture silhouettes, slim fit dresses embroidered with sequins and patchwork assembled suits. the designer twists marine elements, embroidering star fish and decorating items with whale and crab silhouettes. he also plays with colours, and optical illusions, oversized volumes and superpositions. a wardrobe which highlights the material know-how and the detailed tailoring of the american designer. with the arrival of the zegna group, the designer calmly visualizes the future. note: bags in the shape of animals, hats and masks full of life and platform soled shoes. interview with thom browne:summertime on the east coast of america, north east coast and just playing with american sensibilities and yeah i mean playing with, taking very soft marine ideas and soft marine fabrications and then working with them and creating very special pieces. there was so much work and so much, just thought and so much true design that went into each. creating fabrics and embroidery and even just playing with proportion and how proportion can be shown differently, but starting with the classic idea of tailoring and the classic american sensibility.having fun with the idea of the masks, and the idea of even just the bondage idea but the image really projecting the power of the women within the clothes, so there is a lot of really strong images. music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
